Wellington Hall is on St Mary's Road in Dundalk

Dundalk Women's Shed are moving to a new venue at the Wellington Hall, St Mary's Road, Dundalk  from Monday 17 April.

The inaugural meeting of Dundalk Women’s Shed took place in the County Museum, on Monday 12 September 2022. with over 70 women in attendance.

The initiative was spearheaded by Dara MacGabhann, Community Development Officer, Louth Local Development, in response to an emerging need within the Dundalk area.

From local surveys, women were expressing a need for greater opportunities for social interaction, to learn new skills and find out more information on welfare and health issues.

Since the inaugural meeting, the Shed have been meeting on Monday mornings at Dundalk Gaol. Linda Stevens Acting Chair says they are “sad to leave the Gaol, a great venue, where the staff have been fantastic but the Shed is so successful that we  have to move to a bigger venue to accommodate our numbers and provide space for our activities.”

Linda continued, “it looks like the  Wellington Hall looks like it will be a good meeting place for the coming year. Our first meeting there will take place on Monday 17th April with a talk  on Self Defence followed by tea and chat.

“Our walking group continues to meet weekly and we now have a Shed Book Club meeting in the Library. See our facebook page “Dundalk Women's Shed” for updates to our programme of events.

“We look forward to seeing all our members there and new members are welcome also so women want to find out about the Shed and its activities, come along.”

Dundalk Women's Shed is open to all women aged over 18 in Dundalk and surrounding areas. Contact womenssheddundalk@gmail.com for more information.
