39 litter fines issued in Louth last month
Louth County Council issued 39 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) in the month of February for littering, its latest figures have confirmed.
Of the 39, eight were issued in the Dundalk urban area, 16 in the Drogheda urban area and 15 in the remaining county wide area.
There was one FPN issued for dog fouling in February. There have been 232 litter investigations completed to date in 2023 with 142 carried out in the month of February. The local authority has confirmed that there have been 70 litter FPNs issued in the year to date.
Along with this six IBC’s (integrated bulk containers) containing laundered diesel sludge were dumped at various locations in the county during the month of February 2023.
Louth County Council says associated removal cost of the diesel sludge is €7,488.92. The local authority has also confirmed that so far in 2023 there have been nine IBC’s dumped within County Louth with an associated removal cost of €11,233.38.
