Cllr John Reilly
Cllr John Reilly said he is concerned about the poor mobile coverage in Hackballscross, Rassan and Sheelagh area.
He said he has received a number of complaints about this, such as being unable to send photographs and not being able to use WhatsApp.
Cllr Reilly said: “The phone companies have said they would be looking into the matter and that the mobile infrastructure in that area is very dated and is in urgent need of an upgrade.
“This will all be done in conjunction with improvements that are planned for several areas of north Louth.
“Cellnex and Get Connected have done extensive drone surveys over large areas of north Louth: Knockbridge, Kilkerley, Lordship, Templetown and Whitestown.
“All areas which have been surveyed are due for improvements in the coming months.
Cllr Reilly continued saying it is important that this area does not get left behind, especially with new booster poles planned in the Kilkerley and Kilcurry areas.
