Dundalk court: Man told garda he was 'out for a spin' during Covid restrictions

A man who was stopped during Covid travel restrictions told a garda that he was out for a spin with his mates, and "he wouldn't get Covid anyway', Dundalk district court heard last week.

Stephen Dunne with an address at Greenbank, Tullydonnell was prosecuted under movement of persons regulations following his detection on the Coast Road, Blackrock on January 18th 2021.

The court was told that four males were in the vehicle which was driving towards Blackrock village when it was stopped by gardai on mobile patrol.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a fine of €105.
