Number signing on in Louth rose by almost 16% in past year

The number of people signing on the Live Register in Louth rose by almost 16% between February 2022 and February 2023 according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

7,845 people signed on the Live Register in Louth in February, compared to 6,769 a year earlier, an increase of 15.9%. On a monthly basis, the number of people signing on in Louth increased by nine.

Looking at the local figures, Dundalk saw the number of people signing on rise from 3,107 in February 2022 to 3,602 this year, a rise also of 15.9%.

Drogheda saw a greater percentage increase, with an rise of 16.7%, with 3,471 signing on in February compared to a year earlier.

Ardee saw the lowest annual increase in the number signing on, at 12.2%. 772 people signed on in Ardee in February 2023, compared to 688 a year earlier.

Nationally, all counties saw an increase in number signing on the Live Register in the 12 months to February 2023
