Dundalk Golf Notes: Large crowds flock to see 2023 Captains' Drive-In

A large crowd attended the Captains’ Drive-In last Sunday as Captain Noel Reid, Lady Captain Briege Renaghan, Boys Captain Ben Cahill and Girls Captain Clara Egan performed their ceremonial tee-shots. Everybody in the club wishes them well for their year in office.

Last week’s men’s competition was a 14 Hole Champagne Scramble with teams of four. The winners were JP Casey, John McKeever, Paul Cheshire and Brian Crombie, who combined excellently to shoot a score of 81pts.   

Sunday, February 5 - Champagne Scramble 14 Hole Stableford - Winners: J.P Casey, John McKeever, Paul Cheshire, Brian Crombie 81pts. Runners Up: Martin Cairns, Aidan Rice, Kevin Redmond, Adrian Kenny 80pts.

DUNDALK LADIES

The Deluxe Bathrooms Spring League is fast progressing, with four of the six weeks completed. The scoring in week four was impressive yet again, with Joanne Lynch carding a superb 39 points to win Division 3.

Anna Rowland was the winner of Division 1 with 34 points and Anne Murray was the Division 2 winner with 31 points. Very well done to the prize winners and thanks to the sponsors of the league, Deluxe Bathrooms.

Saturday, February 4 and Tuesday, February 7 – Deluxe Bathrooms Spring League Week 4 - Division 1: Anna Rowland (14.9) 34pts, Ruth Connolly (18.2) 31pts, Fionnuala Dullaghan (20.8) 30pts.

Division 2: Anne Murray (24.7) 31pts, Nora Byrne (25.3) 30pts, Maura Shelly (27.3) 30pts. Division 3: Joanne Lynch (38.7) 39pts, Mairead Ahern (33.1) 32pts, Grainne Gallagher (32.4) 30pts. 9 Hole Competition - Geraldine Rogers 21pts, Bernadette Kearney 20pts.
