'Songs for Sonia' concert will take place in the Lisdoo to fundraise money to help former Dundalk FC Sonia return to Mexico for continued cancer treatment.

'Songs for Sonia' will take place in the Lisdoo bar on Saturday March 4th at 7.30pm.

There will be live performances from Finnian Kelleher, The Decades Band, Sinead McNally, Paudie Breen, Olive Curran and Band, Roisin Ward Morrow and Breifne Holohan, The Caraher Brothers and many more.

There will be a raffle, finger food and DJ Dynamo Disco on the decks.

Sonia was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer in February 2019 and underwent an aggressive treatment of radiation and chemotherapy.

She was almost a year in remission when she got the sad news for the second time in July 2020 that her inoperable and incurable cervical cancer had returned and had spread to her lungs.

Her family and friends launched the ‘SaveOurSonia fundraising campaign to help her access alternative treatments at the Hope4Cancer clinic in Mexico, which offers “nontoxic protocols” with the aim of improving her overall condition and shrinking her tumours.

She received treatment there in 2021 and fundraising has been launched again to help Sonia to return to Mexico for further treatment.

Tickets are €20 and are available on Eventbrite, from the Lisdoo and saveoursonia@hotmail.com or Revolut Soniabzfi

All proceeds go directly to Sonia's essential life prolonging treatment both at home and in the Hope for Cancer clinic in Mexico.
