Cllr John Reilly has welcomed a clean-up at the water works site in Ravensdale in Dundalk. In comments to the Dundalk Democrat, the Fine Gael councillor said that he had been asked for a clean-up of the reservoir over the summer months.

He said, "I have to praise Louth Co Council for getting this major clean-up of the area sorted at last". No cutting of grass or vegetation has been done over many years, he explained, "so, this is a very welcome development."

The Dundalk-Carlingford councillor went on to say that the access to mains water in north Louth, "is still a major problem for so many residents on private wells."

Cllr Reilly says wishes to have a meeting with Irish Water on the long-term plans for the water works site going forward .
