Sean Sharkey Memorial CX Race to take place this Saturday

For the second year in a row Bellurgan Wheelers are again holding the Sean Sharkey Memorial CX Race at McCrystals cycling track this Saturday 28th January.

Sean was 16 years of age when he suddenly passed away.

The Sharkeys are a cycling family with close ties to the track where Sean cycled on a tandem with his Dad Peter.

Writing on their GoFundMe page  Bellurgan Wheelers said:

“Bellurgan wheelers and the extended cycling community will come together again for the second year of the The Sean Sharkey cyclo cross race at McCrystals cycling track.

“In remembering Sean we will ride, smile and  laugh celebrating Sean’s life.

“This Gofundme page is for people to give a donation towards The Maria Goretti Foundation.

“A respite home only a few kilometres from our track The Maria Goretti Foundation is a special place where children and families are  cared for.”

Riders who wish to take part in the race can register here, with all money going to the chosen charity.

Members of the public who want to make a donation can do so on GoFundMe.
