Late changes hand Naomh Mairtin victory in Division One

Mattock Rangers 2-10.

Naomh Mairtin 3-10.

Three scores near the end of this clash were enough to see Mairtins to victory on Tuesday evening.

Mattock registered the first point of the game, The Mairtins got a goal from there first attack after five minutes courtesy of Craig Lynch from a ball that came across the square and he used his height advantage to put the ball into the net.

The Mairtins scored a second goal five minutes later from Brian McQuillian who scored from the edge of the square,

Rangers scored four unanswered points after this, but then Brian Berrill poked a ball into to the net on the stroke off half time.

The men from Collon got the second half to a great start with a well taken goal and then both sides cancelled each other with three points a piece and it looked like the game was heading for a draw, but the Mairtins were able to introduce Mick Fanning and Karl Courtney which made the difference and they finished the stronger team and scored three unanswered points to win the game.

Best for the Mairtins were Gavin Mooney, Brian Berrill and Paul Berrill.
