Played in ideal conditions it was Cooley who made most of the running in the first half with six unanswered points such was their dominance at centre field.

Fechins opened their tally on twenty five minutes and reduced the deficit by half time to just two points. Half Time, Cooley 0-6. Fechins 0-4 .

Fechins levelled with two early points after the re start and went ahead with the only goal of the match from Robt Flynn finished a high ball into the net.

The visitors soon levelled and after an exchange of points went into a four point lead with only a few minutes remaining. Fechins after a number of changes kept up the pressure with Michael Flanagan and Conor Dullahan exchanging points and in the final seconds of play goaled from substitute Brian O Connell to narrow the gap to just a point.

Cooley were deserving winners with some excellent approach play throughout this match.
