Louth County Board remain silent on senior manager candidates

Having received the list of nominated candidates for the Louth manager’s post from the Clubs at the weekend, it appears that the Louth County Board are keeping quiet on the names.

Having received the list of nominated candidates for the Louth manager’s post from the Clubs at the weekend, it appears that the Louth County Board are keeping quiet on the names.

There was no official announcement made from the Board and it is unknown at this stage who may be in the running to take over.

Previous speculation had touted U21 and O’Raghallaigh’s coach Colin Kelly as a likely successor to Peter Fitzpatrick, with former Armagh manager Peter McDonnell following closely.

A posting on the official Louth GAA Twitter account yesterday failed to give any further specific information.

“The committee appointed are dealing with the matter and will present a report to management in due course.”

The committee in question comprises County Chairman Padraic O’Connor, Louth Secretary Des Halpenny, Barry Cullen and Declan Byrne.
