The O’Connell’s, Stabannon, Joes combination advanced to the next round of the Louth minor championship with a five point win over St Mochtas on Monday evening in Louth village.
The away side went in at half time one point ahead, 2-5 to 1-7 thanks to goals from Cian Doyle and Evan Caldwell.
In the second half the combination side had another 3-3 added to their score before the home side got their first score of the half.
Doyle got another of the goals and Robert Quigley helped himself to the other two.
The home side did rally near the end adding 2-2 to their score but time ran out and the visitors move on to the next round.
