Na Piarsaigh go into the quarter final of this championship thanks to a ten minute purple patch in the second half that saw them score three goals and a point without reply and then not register another score for the remaining 12 minutes of the game.
The game played in a downpour saw O’Connell’s with a slender lead at half time 1-7 to 1-4.
Six minutes in to the second half the away side were 2-7 to 1-5 up but the rock road team hit that purple patch to lead 4-6 to 2-7.
The Bellingham lads added four more points but its Na Piarsaigh who advance to the next round by the narrowest of margins.

This was a keenly contested game throughout with Roche having that little bit more experience but the Fechins side fought bravely to the end.
Fechins started well against the breeze and after an early Sean Brennan point found the net from Vinny Corrigan on five minutes.
Roche opened from a Tommy O Hare point minutes later and they went on to add five points without reply up to half time.
Points coming from Tommy O Hare, three, Martin Craven, two and Eugene Murray to lead at the break 0-6 to 1-1.
Roche added a point soon after the break from Sub Niall Mc Ardle with Fechins narrowing the gap to the minimum at the three quarter stage with points from Adam Sheridan and Harry Mc Carthy.
A defensive error then allowed Niall Mc Ardle in for a well taken goal to widen the gap to four points.
Two further points from Murray and Craven left Fechins chasing the game in the final ten minutes.
They made a number of substitutions and tested the Roche defence adding a Colm Mulholland point and then another Corrigan goal. The Roche keeper brought off a great save from point blank range during this period and they finished strongest with a fisted point from Colm Callan.
