A HUGE turnout is expected for this Wednesday’s Dundalk Half Marathon and 10k Run, which gets underway from Market Square at 6.30pm.
The event, which is being sponsored by Talk To Me Mobile Phones, is expected to have 1,500 competing in it - a significant increase on last year’s figure for the inaugural race.
Many of the entrants have been collecting their race packs in the last few days with the last chance to do so happening on Wednesday between 12 Noon and 4pm in the Long Walk Shopping Centre.
The Long Walk will provide free car parking during the race with the town centre set to be closed to traffic from 6pm on the day.
The route of the race remains unchanged from last year despite the ongoing works at Market Square and once again water stations will be located along the route.
The organisers are still on the lookout for stewards to help with the running of the event and anyone who wishes to lend their time can do so by contacting Bryan McCrystal at 0872204870. All are welcome to attend on the day.
