The normal recycle centre entry charge of €4 will apply in Dundalk and Drogheda
Louth County Council will once again host its annual Mattress and Couch Amnesty this September, giving households across the county a chance to dispose of bulky items free of charge. The normal recycle centre entry charge of €4 will apply in Dundalk and Drogheda.
The event will take place on two separate dates and locations only:
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 (9:30am – 5:30pm)
Dundalk V&W Civic Amenity Centre
Drogheda V&W Civic Amenity Centre
Thursday, September 4th, 2025 (9:30am – 3:30pm)

Dundalk and Drogheda collections will only take place on Wednesday 3rd Sept not on Thursday. The Mattress and Couch Amnesty Event in Louth, which aims to prevent the illegal disposal of bulky household items, has proven quite successful over the past number of years, with a large number of both items being collected.
