The beach is closed until further notice and investigations are underway.

The bathing water is to be re sampled and monitored

Bathers are advised not to swim at Clogherhead Beach due to elevated results from the sample taken on the 2nd September 2024.

According to the Council the likely cause of the elevated levels is a Waste Water Treatment Plant issue.

The beach is closed until further notice and investigations are underway. The bathing water is to be re sampled and monitored.
