Dundalk Crime Round-Up


09/02: A burglary at Mulholland Avenue. Homeowners returned at 6.20pm to find 2 males upstairs who fled the scene upon approach. They sped off towards McEntee Avenue in a dark navy Volkswagen with a 2002 Laois registration. The vehicle was later observed in Drogheda.

09/02: A theft at Laurel Grove in Greenacres resulted in €500 and £200 being stolen from the residence. The perpetrators are thought to have gained access through the sitting room window between 3 and 6 o'clock.

09/02: Report of a loud bang and ensuing fire at Muirhevnamor at 11.30pm. The fire was found to be set intentionally and surrounding houses were evacuated.

11/02: Break-in at the Bay Estate area of Cherryvale. The resident was awoken by a loud bang at 8.40 pm. The perpetrator fled the scene having initially gained entry to through the rear window and broke the alarm box off the wall.
