Shelagh preschool marks a decade of nurturing local children and supporting families

Local Shelagh based preschool Rachael’s Room is celebrating a special milestone this year as it marks its 10th anniversary.

For a decade, Rachael Conlon has provided a welcoming and nurturing environment in her preschool where young children can learn, play, build friendships and develop the confidence and skills they need for the next stage of their lives.

The tenth anniversary is a celebration of the children, families, staff, primary school and wider community who have helped make Rachael’s Room such a valued part of local life.

From its beginnings ten years ago, the preschool has remained focused on creating a positive early-years experience for children while supporting parents and guardians during those important first steps into education.

Over the years, countless children have passed through Rachael’s Room, creating memories, forming friendships and developing a love of learning along the way. For many local families, the preschool has become an important part of their children’s early years and a familiar presence within the Shelagh community.

The anniversary is also an opportunity to recognise the dedication of the people behind Rachael’s Room, to all the staff past and present, whom this couldn't have been done without, to the amazing support of Scoil Bhríde, and everyone that has lent a hand.

Their commitment, care and enthusiasm have helped create an environment where children are encouraged to explore, express themselves and learn through experience.

Speaking on the anniversary, Rachael Conlon said the milestone is a proud moment and an opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of the preschool’s journey.

“Reaching ten years is a very special achievement for me. We are incredibly grateful to all the children and families who have shared this journey with us, and to everyone who has supported the preschool over the years. Our anniversary is a celebration of the community that has grown around Rachael’s Room. We opened our doors ten short years ago and my father, Peter Conlon, was a huge inspiration to me in life and in business. Sadly, he's no longer with us but I just know that he's smiling down on me, proud of all I've achieved in the last ten years.”

As Rachael’s Room looks ahead to the next ten years and more, its focus remains firmly on providing children with a happy, supportive and stimulating start to their educational journey.

The team hopes the tenth anniversary will be a chance for past and present families, friends and members of the local community to celebrate the preschool’s contribution to Early Childhood Education in Shelagh and the wider Dundalk area.
