Irish Life staff in Dundalk once again laced up their runners for a charity walking event in aid of three major Irish charities.
Organised by the Irish Life Staff Charity Committee, the event began this morning with staff completing a 5.8km looped walk throughout the day. The first group will set off at 8am, with the final group departing at 3pm.
Staff were also joined during the event by Rory O'Connor from Rory's Stories, who showed his support for the fundraising initiative and helped boost the atmosphere throughout the day.
The initiative follows the success of similar fundraising walks in recent years, which have raised both awareness and donations for the selected causes, with staff collecting funds along the route and a donation link also available.
This year’s charity partners were Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, A Lust for Life, and the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation.
The day included music, treats and the opportunity for the public to support the fundraising effort.
Irish Life staff charities raised €580,000 last year alone for Breast Cancer Ireland and Pieta, with the total amount doubled through employer matching contributions.
Since its establishment in 1996, the initiative has raised more than €5 million for various charities across Ireland.
