Brave dippers take the plunge at Dundalk's Market Square to support Turas

The public ice dip drew a lively crowd and plenty of online support

On Friday, over 20 brave people took an icy dip in Market Square in Dundalk town centre in support of Turas.

The event was held to encourage people to vote for Turas in the AIB Community Fund which closes on Wednesday, 25th June.

If successful, Turas will receive a donation towards their work with people locally in recovery from addiction.

The public ice dip drew a lively crowd and plenty of online support, with many people voting for Turas to receive vital funding through the AIB Community Fund.

Last year Turas worked with 450 people and sees an ever increasing need for support with four to five new referrals being received some days.

“The event highlighted both the strength and spirit of our community, and the importance of supporting mental health and addiction recovery services in the region,” a spokesperson for Turas said.

“Thank you to everyone who dipped, donated, and voted – let’s keep the momentum going!”

Voting for the AIB Community Fund remains open until Wednesday, June 25th.
