A Louth native has been recognised on the national stage for her outstanding contribution to the legal profession.

Carol McGuinness, originally from Stabannon was named Dublin Family Lawyer of the Year at the Irish Law Awards held last Friday. The accolade marks a significant milestone in her successful legal career.

Carol, who attended St. Vincent’s Secondary School and St. Mary’s College in Dundalk, now heads up her own firm, Carol McGuinness Solicitors, based in Dublin.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carol remains an active contributor to her community currently serves as a board member of Connect Credit Union and previously held the role of chairperson.

The LEAP Irish Law Awards 2025 once again honoured the outstanding achievements of Ireland’s legal professionals. Now in its 13th year, the event recognises excellence across the legal industry, shining a spotlight on those who have shown exceptional dedication, skill, and service to the profession. This year’s ceremony took place at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin, where the legal community gathered to celebrate the very best in Irish law.

Hosted by Anton Savage, the evening was filled with celebration, recognition, and reflection. Anton brought his trademark poise and presence to the stage, guiding the proceedings with warmth and wit, as over 500 attendees applauded the accomplishments of their peers.
