Dundalk Credit Union has been recognised for its commitment to inclusivity by receiving the Positive Futures Welcome Award. This accolade, presented by local intellectual disability charity Positive Futures, celebrates organisations that go above and beyond to create a welcoming and supportive environment for people with disabilities.
Megan Harman, Service Manager for Positive Futures’ Dundalk-based Misneach Supported Living Service said: "The warm welcome and help provided by staff at the Dundalk CU makes a huge difference to the person we support in enabling her to feel confident and empowered to manage her finances. Positive Futures has operated the Welcome Award in Northern Ireland for several years. Previous recipients include the BBC and Belfast International Airport. The award entitles recipients to display a window sticker showing people that they can expect a warm welcome.
Dr Agnes Lunny, Chief Executive of Positive Futures, said: “We believe it’s really important to recognise organisations who are inclusive, compassionate and demonstrate understanding, and the team at Dundalk Credit Union certainly live up to those ideals. We look forward to many more businesses and organisations receiving our Welcome Award in the near future.”
David Donnelly, the Head of Marketing & Communications at Dundalk Credit Union said: "We’re thrilled to receive this award, recognising the dedication of our team to providing a warm welcome and our focus on meeting the needs of all of our members across the northeast."
