The Gateway Hotel in Dundalk officially launches its newest dining destination

The opening of 54 Degrees

On Wednesday last week The Gateway Hotel formally launched its newest dining destination — 54 Degrees, a restaurant named after its exact location on the globe.

A spokesperson for the hotel said: "Although it’s named after one specific latitude, 54 Degrees is designed to take you on a culinary adventure that spans the entire world. The menus are inspired by food from all over, full of bold flavours and global influences, so forget your passport — all you need is an appetite.

"The restaurant launch comes after a significant refurbishment and investment of €1.2 million in the space, creating a sleek, modern bar & restaurant whose warm and inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for date nights, family dinners, or group gatherings. This is the first phase in an ongoing series of investments in the hotel."

It was great to officially introduce 54 Degrees to our guests and the Dundalk community last night,” said William Burke, General Manager of The Gateway Hotel.

Its fantastic that the first phase of our refurb here in the hotel culminates in this stylish new venue that we can now share widely. Such a huge project takes all the collective effort and support of everyone involved — the owners, our team at the hotel, and the wider team from The iNua Collection.

"The community too has shown tremendous support since we opened, and we look forward to sharing this new space with them for casual dining, events, and corporate evenings,” he said.

Owner Matthew OCallaghan echoed this sentiment: There is huge potential in Dundalk and we are proud to help in attracting tourism to the area,” he said. “Our aim with 54 Degrees is to add to the extremely positive experience for those who visit Dundalk, spending time enjoying all that the area has to offer.

"We cant thank the people of Dundalk enough for their continued support throughout this transformational change and we hope the community enjoys this new venue.”
