The 31-year-old Dublin native has plenty of experience in the league, having played for Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers, Derry City and Bohemians.
Cornwall also spent two seasons in the United States with Northern Colorado Hailstorm, before returning to Bohemians in 2024. He now joins the Lilywhites as they prepare for life back in the top flight.
Dundalk are also in Leinster Senior Cup action tonight against Shelbourne, with the game taking place at Dundalk Sports Centre, Muirhevnamor due to ongoing works at Oriel Park (kick-off 7.45pm).
The club has warned supporters that capacity will be limited, with restricted viewing around the pitch.
There will be pedestrian access only and no parking available, while both the Sports Centre and Community Centre will be operating as normal at the same time.
