Redeemer Celtic 0-6 Muirhevnamor FC

Muirhevnamor proved too strong for Redeemer in the loser's final Dundalk and District League game of the season, running out 6-0 victors. Micky O'Kane put the Blues ahead midway through the first half, and Stephen Ferguson quickly made it 2-0, with a fine effort.

The second half was only minutes old when O Kane headed his 18th goal of the season to move within one goal of the top scorer, Peter Shields.

A terrific shot from Keith Harmon made it 4-0. Adam Flynn and Daniel Duffy, with his 10th strike of the campaign, completed the rout.

Rampart Celtic 3-2 Bay F

This was a vital game for Rampart Celtic; they needed a win to keep their title hopes alive before meeting leaders Carlingford in the final game of the league.

A victory would leave them trailing by three points. They got the worst start possible when William Opoku netted from close in to put Bay ahead after 19 minutes.

On the half-hour mark, Stephen Sharkey got the equaliser, which saw the sides go on equal terms at the break. Four minutes into the second period, lady luck shone on Rampart when Bay conceded an own goal.

From that point, they took control of the match, which allowed Stephen Sharkey to fire home his second goal to put his side into cruise control. This was his second brace in his last two games.

Bay could only watch with dismay as a thundering shot from 35 yards smacked off the crossbar. Shortly after, another bay attack saw Colm Bracken score from a rebound to leave just a goal between the sides with 15 minutes remaining.

Rampart were sure they won a penalty with minutes left to play, but got a free just outside the box. They held their collective nerve to bridge the gap to three points before the final league game against Carlingford on the Astro Pitch, on Wednesday, 1st October at 8:00pm.
