After a brilliant start to the campaign, they have only won one of their last four league fixtures and were knocked out of the Clancy Cup.

Carlingford’s only league loss was a 1-0 home defeat to Rampart in mid-season. There was little between the sides, with square probably feeling they should have won to keep their outside title hopes alive.

Iri Popescu got the home side's goal, his second this season, and Stephen Sharkey was Ramparts scorer with his fifth strike this term.

Tuesday, 19th August: Bay FC 3-3 Muirhevnamor FC – Rock Road

This entertaining match on Bay's ground saw some of the league's top scorers exhibit their clinical finishing. Daniel Duffy gave the visitors a six-minute lead with a poacher's skill. On 22 minutes, Maylon Berdague latched onto a ball over the top to level the scores.

Minutes into the second half, Gino Cooney had Bay ahead, but within minutes, Micky O'Kane fired a low drive from distance, his 11th goal this season, to restore parity at two apiece.

A Daniel Duffy overhead kick in the 52nd minute, his ninth strike of the campaign, had 'the mor' ahead. Almost on the hour mark, Gino Cooney from close in struck what proved to be the last score of an absorbing contest with his seventh notch on his scoring belt.

Tuesday, 19th August: Redeemer Celtic 3-2 Haynestown Celtic – Astro Turf

This was Redeemer's second win of the season, their first coming on the opening day, a 1-0 home win versus Carrick. Aidan McCabe, Garreth O'Hare and Robbie Duffy all got on the score sheet in this shock win.

Adam Gartlan and Gregory Santiago got the Haynestown scores. The win lifted Redeemer off the floor of the league, Haynestown remain fourth in the table.

Wednesday, 20th August: Carrick Rovers 0-2 Carlingford Celtic – Carrick

Carlingford joined Rampart at the top of the league with this hard-fought away win in Carrick. Both on 33 points, the Peninsula side has a game in hand. Enda O'Neill scored his second goal for the club, breaking the deadlock.

It was left to their top scorer, Eddie Duffy, to make the points safe with his 11th goal, to join Ross Gaynor, Colm Bracken and Micky O'Kane at the top of the scoring chart, all on 11 goals each. The race to the season's end is really heating up.
