Tuesday, 5th August: Redeemer Celtic 2-8 Square United – Muirhevnamor Astro Pitch

Square United scored after just three minutes of play and went on to turn over 3-0 ahead. They soon made it 4-0 early in the second half, but a lovely goal from Brendan McGuinness gave Redeemer some hope, which was quickly squashed by a rampant Ardee side, who went on to win 8-2.

Oran McParland got a second for the outclassed home team. Ross Gaynor and Stephen Halpenny each notched a brace, while Mike Nulty, Benny Osbourne, Arthur Sands and Arouna Sanogo all got on the score sheet.

Wednesday, 6th August: Carlingford Celtic 5-0 Muirhevnamor FC - Foy Centre

For the second week in a row, Carlingford put five goals past Muirhevnamor. This time the Dundalk visitors had no answer, like the Clancy Cup quarter final in which they lost by 5-3 in a thrilling cup tie, the previous week.

This win brings them within two points of the leaders, Rampart Celtic, with a game in hand. Joe Dunne and Peter Shields each scored twice, with Ross Dollaghan getting his second strike of the season.

Wednesday, 6th August: Carrick Rovers 4-5 Haynestown Celtic - Ballybay Road

The unpredictable Haynestown bounced back from their 6-1 mauling in last week's Clancy Cup tie with Square United to win this nine-goal league match by the minute amount against Carrick.

The home side's goals came from club top scorer Steven O'Rourke, who got two, Ryan Marron with his 6th this term and Jason Lewis with his maiden goal. Jason Quinn with a brace, Liam Corbett, Sahndon Buye and Ibrahim Hassan got the Haynestown goals.

Wednesday, 6th August: Faughart Rovers 0-1 Bay FC

There was little between these sides as they strove to combat the windy conditions. The outstanding moment in the first half came in the 25th minute when Colm Bracken hit the home side's crossbar.

Poor finishing by both sides saw the 55th minute arrive before the only goal of the game was scored by Bays Colm Bracken, who stabbed the ball home after a concentrated attack by the Dundalk team.

With minutes remaining, a melee developed in the Faughart defence, which saw the referee sending one player from each side off. With 10 minutes of added time and light began to fade, and the referee brought an interesting league match to an end.
