Former Dundalk FC league winner Higgins confirmed as new Coleraine FC manager

The Derry native won the Premier Division title as a player and assistant manger during his time at Oriel Park

Former Dundalk FC player, and assistant manager, Ruaidhrí Higgins, has been named as the new first-team manager of Coleraine FC.

The ex-Lilywhites midfielder helped the Carrick Road outfit lift the League of Ireland title during his time at Oriel Park as a player in 2014 and as assistant manager in 2019.

Higgins returns to the Showgrounds in Coleraine where he ended his playing days in 2016. Now, he takes on a new challenge in the north, with Coleraine pushing for a European spot.

The 40-year-old has built a strong coaching career since retiring, including a spell with the Republic of Ireland setup and leading Derry City to FAI Cup and President’s Cup success.
