Cyclo-cross is a form of cross country bicycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter and consist of many laps of a short course featuring pavements, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles.

All three competed in the main ‘A Race’ and produced some good performances. Results as follows - 1st Veteran: Aiden McDonald; 3rd Super Veteran: Johnny McCabe; 2nd Senior: Ray O’Shaughnessy.

Meanwhile another two Cuchulainn CC members, Gary Sheils and Declan McCabe, travelled north to Windmill Wood, Dungannon, Co Tyrone to compete in Round 3 of the Ulster Cyclo-cross series.

The very wet weather added to the muddy technical forest course conditions which included the usual grassy slopes and some tarmac path sections.

Both cyclists competed in the main ‘A Race’ and produced some good results in their own individual categories with Sheils finishing 2nd in the Veteran and McCabe 3rd in the Super Veteran groups respectively.
