A number of serious road traffic offences have been detected by An Garda Síochána in the Dundalk over the bank holiday period, as part of ongoing roads policing operations aimed at improving public safety.
Among the incidents recorded, Gardaí identified a driver travelling at 150kph while holding only a learner permit and driving unaccompanied.
In a separate incident on the M1 motorway, a motorist was detected speeding at 170kph and subsequently tested positive for cannabis.

The driver was arrested at the scene.
Additionally, Gardaí intercepted another motorist who was found to be driving under the influence of drugs and without valid insurance.
