Dundalk Roads Policing Unit (RPU) has recently taken action against two drivers found operating cars without valid insurance.

During routine patrols, Gardaí came across one driver who was detected using a mobile phone while driving on the M1.

A check revealed the vehicle had no insurance in place.

The car was seized, and prosecution proceedings are to follow.

Another driver was stopped in Dundalk. Gardaí noted that the driver’s insurance, motor tax, and NCT had all expired.

As a result, the vehicle was seized and prosecution will also follow.

Commenting on the incidents, An Garda Síochána Louth stated: “Driving uninsured — that’s a policy we cannot defend.”
