Motorist, with 160 previous convictions, fined for driving without insurance

A 34-year-old man who was previously convicted in his absence of driving without insurance, was fined and given a three month suspended sentence at Dundalk district court last week.

Joseph Boswell with addresses at Marian Park, Dundalk and Cremona Road, Ballyfermot appeared on foot of a bench warrant last Wednesday for sentencing for  driving without insurance or a driving licence at Marian Park on February 6th last .

The court heard he had 160 previous convictions and was disqualified from driving for 10 years at Tallaght District Court in March for driving uninsured on May 21st 2022.

The Defence barrister said his client previously lived in Tallaght but now lives in Ballyfermot and his girlfriend's house is boarded up following an attack.

Judge Nicola Andrews imposed a €501 fine and three month sentence.

She suspended the sentence on him entering a bond to be of good behaviour for 21 months.
