Dundalk Roads Policing Unit has issued a warning to motorists after stopping a van driver for using a mobile phone while driving in hazardous weather conditions.

According to Louth Gardaí, the incident occurred during heavy rain, with roads described as treacherous.

The driver was reportedly holding and looking at his phone.

Gardaí stopped the vehicle and issued a fixed penalty.
