Members of the Dundalk Roads Policing Unit seized an e-scooter in the town centre this yesterday after observing dangerous behaviour in a pedestrian area.

According to Gardaí, officers on patrol saw the rider pulling wheelies on Market Square. The individual was subsequently stopped and it was discovered that they were not eligible to have the scooter due to age restrictions.

Further checks revealed the scooter was missing a manufacturer’s plate which is a legal requirement for such vehicles.

The scooter was seized on the spot.

In a statement on social media, Gardaí said: "Dundalk Roads Policing Unit are still out and about trying to keep our community safe."
