A judge has warned that people should not park in a disabled parking bay without a permit "no matter what hour it is - day or night".

Judge Stephanie Coggans made the comment after imposing a €300 fine on Chloe Murtagh of Slieve Breagh, Ardee who the local district court heard had parked in the disabled parking bay outside Centra on Castle Street on March 19th last.

The Defence solicitor explained that his client was moving her belongings in at the time, it was midnight and there was no other parking space available.
