Dundalk gardai arrest driver twice over the limit who tried to evade them

Dundalk Roads Policing Unit were out last Friday evening patrolling when they saw the driver of a VW Golf travelling at speed down the Castletown Road. 

When gardai caught up with the vehicle the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Gardai say the driver tried to evade them but was contained by their trained RPU crews.

The driver then made things worse by refusing to comply with a breath test at the roadside and was arrested. 

Gardai say the driver later blew twice over the limit at the station. 

The vehicle was also seized for a number of offences and a prosecution has commenced
