Driver in Louth tests positive for cocaine after overtaking on solid white line

The driver was stopped and tested positive for Cocaine.

Dundalk Roads Policing Unit were monitoring traffic on the Dundalk to Carlingford Road in Bellurgan on Saturday night when they say they saw a vehicle overtake two other vehicles on a solid white line 40kph over the speed limit. 

The driver was stopped and tested positive for Cocaine. They were arrested and taken back to Dundalk Garda Station for a blood sample.

On their Facebook page gardai said the driver of the car not only put his own life in danger but also his 3 passengers and other road users. 

"We will continue to patrol the county over the Bank Holiday to keep people safe."
