Two arrests as armed gardaí and dog unit search Louth premises in organised crime operation

Two men (30s) have been arrested

Two men have been arrested in Ardee, Co Louth as gardaí carry out searches at a number of premises.

The searches, which remain ongoing this evening, are being led by members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau with the support of gardaí attached to the Louth Divisional Crime Unit, Louth Drugs Unit, the Garda Armed Support Unit as well as the Garda Dog Unit.

According to RTÉ, armed gardaí raided a business premises in Ardee today and discovered a large quantity of guns and ammunition including machine guns, AR-15 rifles, pistols and firearms components.

Two men (30s) have been arrested under organised crime legislation and are currently detained at a garda station in the county.
