Louth hotel named Ireland’s Best Waterside Wedding Venue

Four Seasons Hotel, Spa & Leisure Club Carlingford

Louth is celebrating national recognition as the Four Seasons Hotel, Spa & Leisure Club Carlingford has been voted Best Waterside Wedding Venue at the 2026 SaveMyDay Irish Wedding Venue Awards. The win follows a landmark year for the awards, with more than 700 newlywed and engaged couples casting their votes to select their favourite venues.

The annual awards, hosted by popular wedding venue platform SaveMyDay , honour the most‑loved wedding venues across the country, from intimate spaces to larger estates, with winners chosen entirely by the public for the first time.

SaveMyDay says: “Nestled between Carlingford Lough and the Cooley Mountains, the Four Seasons Hotel has long been admired for its breathtaking waterfront views, exceptional hospitality, and its reputation as one of Ireland’s most picturesque wedding destinations. Its win reflects the continued popularity of scenic venues among couples planning their 2026 celebrations.

Shell Holden, wedding expert and co‑owner of SaveMyDay comments “This year’s awards are especially meaningful because the winners were chosen directly by the people who matter most, the couples themselves. As someone who got married last year, I know first hand how important it is to find a venue that feels personal, welcoming, and true to your story. More than 700 voters shared their favourite venues, their standout moments, and the places that truly delivered for them. It’s a powerful endorsement of the passion and hospitality that Irish wedding venues are known for.”

Shell Holden adds: “Couples in 2026 are leaning into personality-driven weddings more than ever. They want venues that feel like an extension of their story, places that offer flexibility, character, and a sense of experience.”

“The trends we’re seeing this year really resonate with me on a personal level. I got married in 2025 and we included our beautiful rescue dog, Chips, in our day.  He’s since passed, so having those memories and photos is something we’ll always treasure. It’s a reminder of why dog‑friendly venues matter so much to some couples.

“We also chose a restaurant wedding because exceptional food and an intimate atmosphere felt true to us, and as a sustainability‑driven couple, it was important that our venue aligned with our values. More and more couples are making choices that reflect who they are, and Ireland’s venues are rising to meet that with heart.”

All the award-winning wedding venues and many more are featured on SaveMyDay.ie, where couples can connect with any of the venues and enquire for free about their upcoming nuptials.
