Louth business Little Sprouts Garden Box scoops top business award

Little Sprouts Garden Box in Louth has scooped a top business award.

The Ardee business, which is dedicated to fostering a love of nature and gardening in children, has been named one of 24 winning SMEs from across Ireland as part of Google’s You’re the Business Competition.

Founded by Jessica Bourke, Little Sprouts Garden Box brings sustainable, hands-on gardening activity kits to children across Ireland, providing educational activities that families can enjoy together.

Little Sprouts Garden Box offers a range of seasonal gardening kits packed with organic seeds, peat-free compost, kid-sized tools, and easy-to-follow instructions designed for children aged three and up.

Each box includes seasonal organic seeds, engaging activities, and recipes that bring the gardening experience full circle.

These activities help kids develop fine motor skills, responsibility, patience, and even introduce STEM concepts in a hands-on way.

Google, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland (EI) and the Local Enterprise Offices (LEO), announced Lahinch Surf Shop as the overall winner of this year’s You’re the Business competition.

In addition to the overall winner, 23 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from across Ireland, spanning a range of industries from print studios and food producers to bespoke cabinet makers have been awarded an exclusive, money-can’t-buy prize as part of the You’re the Business campaign.

Those selected, including Little Sprouts Garden Box, will receive a digital support package from Google which includes a one-year Google Workspace Business subscription with access to AI-powered tools like Gemini Advanced and NotebookLM and a one-to-one consultation from Google experts on how to get the best out of Google Workspace.

Winners also received a You’re the Business trophy and digital assets and are invited to attend a dedicated winners event in Google’s EMEA HQ in Dublin.

Delivered by Google in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office, You're the Business is an online platform offering digital training and tools to businesses in Ireland free of charge.

Now in its third year, the initiative has taken on a new AI-focus with the online platform offering new training modules where users can explore AI tools and learn how AI can help them prepare for the future.
