Jewellery designer Garrett Mallon
The Garrett Mallon Design House said it is thrilled to announce the celebration of its 10-year anniversary with a series of exciting events planned throughout the summer months.
Founded by renowned goldsmith and jewellery designer Garrett Mallon, this milestone marks a decade of excellence in handcrafted jewellery and Irish craftsmanship in Carlingford, Co. Louth. Highlights include an exclusive in-store event, an exciting competition, and special discounts both in-store and online.
To celebrate the anniversary and to coincide with National Heritage Week and August Craft Month, Garrett Mallon will host an exclusive ‘Meet the Maker’ event.
This special occasion will feature the talented textile designer Martina Scott, renowned for her limited-edition Irish linen prints, and the acclaimed ceramicist Sarah McKenna.
The event will take place at the Garrett Mallon Design House on Saturday, August 17th from 1pm to 5pm.
Visitors will have the unique opportunity to engage with Garrett, Martina, and Sarah, hearing the fascinating stories behind their beautiful crafts.
In addition, attendees can enjoy special discounts on Garrett’s stunning handmade jewellery, as well as on an array of crafts from over 100 Irish artists and craftspeople from across the island of Ireland. This celebration promises to be a highlight of the summer, showcasing the rich heritage and contemporary creativity of Irish craftsmanship.
In honour of this occasion, Garrett has revisited and reimagined his first signature collection, the Cloicin Collection, named after the stony shoreline of Carlingford Lough.
Garrett drew inspiration from the pebbled beaches and the famous Cloc Mor stone visible from his window, creating an etched surface that reflects the sandy texture of the shore.
This reimagined collection introduces new pieces inspired by the pebbled shoreline of Carlingford Lough.
With over 35 years of experience in jewellery design, Garrett Mallon has become a celebrated figure in Irish craftsmanship, known for creating beautiful pieces that blend traditional skills with contemporary Irish design.
His journey began at the age of 16 with a scholarship to the Sir John Cass School of Arts in London, followed by an apprenticeship with a prominent Irish jewellery company in Dublin. In 2002, Garrett realised his dream by establishing his own studio, which eventually evolved into the Garrett Mallon Design House in Carlingford in 2014.
Garrett’s portfolio features standout collections like the bestselling Clan Collection, inspired by family and those we choose to have around us; the Radanta Collection, embodying shining positivity; his very personal Irish Heart Collection, which donates a percentage of proceeds to the Irish Heart Foundation; and the Lenna and Oisin Collections, named after his children.
Garrett also remodels old jewellery, recycling metals and stones into contemporary designs, breathing new life into old unworn pieces.
His exceptional talent has earned him accolades, including "Best Jewellery Product" at Showcase Ireland 2023, and a commission to create bespoke cufflinks for President Joe Biden.
The retail gallery at the Design House, curated by Garrett, has transformed into a vibrant hub for creativity.
It began by showcasing the work of 30 artists and craftspeople and has since expanded to feature over 100 talented makers from across Ireland.
The Garrett Mallon Design House invites you to join in celebrating a decade of artistic excellence and to explore the beautiful new additions to the Cloicin Collection.
