Blackrock Raft Race returns to Louth for a day of sun, sand and seaside craic

Blackrock is set to come alive once again with the return of the legendary Raft Race Day on Sunday, June 29th. With the beach as the backdrop and the sun hopefully shining down, this promises to be one of the most exciting community events of the summer.

But it’s not just about the race, it’s a full day of laughter, games, and unforgettable memories. From quirky contests to beachside battles, there’s something for everyone.

What’s Happening on the Day?Expect more than just raft racing on the water! The shores of Blackrock will be buzzing with:

• Sandcastle Building – Bring your buckets and creativity
• Live Busking Battle – Music and talent in every corner
• Turnip Throwing – No skills needed, just give it a go!
• Tug of War – Classic showdown fun
• Volleyball Games – Action on the sand
• Live Brass Band – Bringing the beats and the atmosphere

And of course, the main event – the legendary Raft Race – will see teams battle it out in the waves in homemade crafts, cheered on by crowds of locals and visitors alike.

As they get ready for Raft Race Day on June 29th, organisers Blackrock Social Group want to thank all the incredible local businesses and supporters who are helping make this day possible.

The event takes place on Blackrock beach starting at 1.30pm with race start time 2.20pm.
