LOCAL musician Grainne Duffy is set to launch her new album ‘Test of Time’ in The Spirit Store, Dundalk on Friday, December 9.
The album features 11 self penned tracks mixing her varied influences of blues, soul and pop music. Recorded in Co Down over the past year, it was mixed in Capitol Studios in Los Angeles by Niko Bolas.
Bolas has worked with Neil Young, Rod Stewart, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock, Keith Richards, John Mayer, Los Lonely Boys and Melissa Etheridge.
The album mastering was carried out by Grammy award winner Richard Dodd in Nashville. According to Grainne, the launch in The Spirit Store will be a special occasion as it is a local gig on her international tour.
The Test of Time tour is taking Grainne to Poland for ten shows, to the UK including a sold out gig in Dingwall’s London with Beth Harte, and to many other shows across Ireland.
Grainne, who is on lead guitar and vocals, is also supported by her band, which features Paul Sherry on second guitar, Davy Watson on bass and backing vocals, Ronnie O’Flynn on drums, and John McCullough on keyboards.
The Spirit Store is a special venue for live music and December 9 promises to be a very memorable night for blues fans as it involves the release of Grainne’s second album.
Don’t miss this opportunity to catch Grainne and her band in this intimate setting before she hits the ground running next year promoting Test of Time in Ireland, the UK, Poland, Norway, Spain and all over Europe.
Doors will open at 8pm on Friday, December 9. Grainne released her debut album ‘Out of the Dark’ in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since. Her debut release garnered much deserved praise.
