The Two Five Ones are coming to Dundalk Gaol
Calling Dundalk! Cavan / Monaghan duo, The Two Five Ones will be hosting a Speakeasy Night in the Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol on Saturday 15th at 8pm. This is a follow up to the sold out event in the Oriel Centre in November 2023 and promises to be a fun night with a difference.
Dress up in 1920s to 1950s garb is encouraged for those who want to get into the full swing of the evening but not essential to enjoy the atmosphere.
The Two Five Ones have been putting on Speakeasy nights since 2018. Speakeasy bars sprang up all over America during the prohibition era. Basically, they were secret bars, often with live music. Their shows generally take place in quirky venues, barns, old churches and the like so the Dundalk Old Gaol will certainly fit the bill, and of course the bar will be open on the night.

There are still a small number of tickets available for the Speakeasy Night in the Gaol from the Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol and from their website, or directly from Eventbrite. The Two Five Ones will be a band of 4 for the night, with Alex Watson on double bass and Newry man John Cosgrove on Soprano Saxophone and special guest vocalist Aoibhín Ní Ghabhann.
Expect to hear songs from the golden age of 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s on the night along with some of The Two Five Ones’ own compositions. Their second studio album Slave to the Moon was launched by Charlie McGettigan in 2023 and has received airplay in stations across Ireland, UK, Europe and Canada.
