Legendary Bon Jovi returns to Dundalk’s Spirit Store

The band's five members have toured with some celebrated rock bands

Legendary Bon Jovi, currently Ireland’s #1 Bon Jovi tribute act and formerly known as Slippery When Wet, return to the Spirit Store again on Saturday night, 25th January, to administer some more ‘Bad Medicine’ to those who have managed to ‘Keep the Faith’ since their previous visit to Dundalk

The boys last performed at the Spirit Store in November of 2023 and played a storming set before a very good turnout. Since then, they’ve been criss-crossing the country, and, fresh from a recent triumphant, post-Lockdown return, Legendary Bon Jovi are once again riding a ‘Blaze of Glory’ as Ireland's top Bon Jovi tributeers.

However, as a mark of respect and remembrance to their storied vocalist, Collie Devlin, who has since sadly passed away, the band have decided to retire the previous name of Slippery When Wet in his honour and will henceforth be known as Legendary Bon Jovi, a bow to the latest release from the actual Bon Jovi.

The late and greatly loved Collie had seen service in such highly-regarded bands as Winter’s Reign and as lead singer with cover specialists ‘Dead Ringer’, and was the possessor of one of the finest voices in the country. It’s fair to say his captivating performances as Slippery When Wet frontman were a huge factor in establishing the band as a force in the land.

In his wake, singing duties have been taken up by Dubliner Kevin Fox, one of the few performers around who is capable of following in the footsteps of the aforementioned Collie. The rest of the band boasts  a legacy which includes such fondly remembered acts as The Rock Monsters, Mr Nice Guy, Rock of Ages and various diverse tribute acts, too numerous to mention!

Legendary Bon Jovi play all the hits including, Livin’ on a Prayer, It’s My Life, Always and Wanted Dead or Alive. The band's five members have toured with some celebrated rock bands that gigged in the RDS and SFX with Magnum, Status Quo and they have performed in New York’s famous CBGB’s with Skid Row.

Currently touring Ireland, the band have sold out lots of venues, including the Purty Loft Dun Laoghaire, Skylite Venue Warrenpoint and Bogans Venue Omagh, with The Times UK adding, how they “play note perfect renditions” and “they are not just talented performers...they are masters of illusion, shedding blood, sweat and tears to fulfil the soulful music of Bon Jovi so much so that it’s hard to tell where the stage stops and the audience begins because the audience interaction is so important to the guys”…

Doors open at 8pm on the night of the 25th and a handful of tickets are still available from the Spirit Store web-site.
