Dundalk-based writer Don Baldwin has released his debut novel “Wolf’s Quest,”. The historical fiction/fantasy novel draws deeply from Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes, fascinating history, and rich folklore.

Set against the backdrop of Viking-era Ireland, “Wolf’s Quest” follows the journey of Wolf, a feral child raised by wolves and later trained in the mysterious underworld of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Returning as a stealthy warrior, Wolf is thrust into a perilous mission alongside Brian Boru, the legendary commander, in a bid to thwart Viking invaders. The story also features local landmarks such as Carlingford, Omeath, Carlingford Lough, and the Cooley Mountains.

Don, a Dundalk native, has been a prolific writer for over 40 years, contributing feature articles and short stories to publications such as Ireland’s Own, Ireland’s Eye, and The Dundalk Democrat. Two of his short stories, “The Sea-maid” and “Deep Thoughts,” have garnered awards.
