Top acts to shine under Thomond Park sun

Rugby players set to be substituted by rock stars over three nights next summer
MUSIC lovers are being spoilt for choice with three top acts set to rock the home of Munster Rugby next summer.
Whether you enjoy pop, rock or alternative music, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The gigs will take place during the weekend of July 12-14 in Thomond Park, Limerick.
The first gig will happen on Friday, July 12 and will be none other than rock band from Dundee, Scotland, Snow Patrol.
The band announced their only Irish date in 2024 will be in Thomond Park and tickets range from €53.85.
Rising Limerick band, Kingfishr will be supporting the band, however, it will not be the first time the band of three University of Limerick lads will play the biggest Limerick stage as they supported Dermot Kennedy last summer at his Limerick gigs.
Emerging over the last 12 months as part of the newest generation of Irish contemporaries, the band’s grand, atmospheric tone married with their propensity for catchy melodies has resonated with a wide audience.
Paolo Nutini will be the second act who will play a major concert at Thomond Park next summer.
The Scottish singer-songwriter, who played to a sell-out crowd at the Milk Market in August, will perform at the home of Munster Rugby on Saturday, July 13.
Tickets for the concert, which will be his only show in Ireland next year, go on sale this Wednesday, December 13.
Liam Gallagher will end the weekend of music at Thomond Park as he has added the venue to his upcoming tour.
Gallagher will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Oasis’s all-conquering and massively influential debut album by embarking upon the ‘Definitely Maybe 30 Years’ tour in 2024.
The gig will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 and tickets start from €69.90.
Tickets for all three concerts can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.ie.
John Cantwell, Thomond Park stadium manager said: “I think it represents that Thomond Park has been an attractive and fantastic concert venue and will continue to be. Especially with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Dermot Kennedy coming, it has re-established the venue and Limerick as a really passionate music region. I think promoters have realised that there is life outside of Dublin and that this will save people a lot of money. We are delighted these three fantastic shows have been confirmed.”
