Gardaí catch learner driver who 'drove for the last time' speeding in treacherous' conditions
The driver was travelling 153kp/h in a 100kp/h zone
A learner driver nearly drove for the last time as gardaí caught the driver speeding under "treacherous" conditions in recent days.
Sharing a post to X (formerly Twitter), a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: "The rain in Galway last night was treacherous when we clocked this unaccompanied, learner permit driver travelling 153kp/h in a 100kp/h zone near Oranmore.
"What happened to be his very first day driving after getting the permit, could have very well been his last."
