The Lilywhite Lounge was taken over recently by all of Dundalk Karate's members, family and friends, where another successful year was celebrated.
All members of Dundalk Karate swapped their Gi's for slacks and shirts or dresses, and swapped bare footed training for dancing shoes and with the latest tunes being played by their resident DJ Goosey. Everyone took to the floor and instead of kicks and punches it was slick moves and grooves being performed by numerous members alongside friends and family.
Having achieved so much over the past year, Dundalk Karate awarded all its members with awards which included, Junior Student of the Year going to Katie Igoe, Senior Student of the Year going to Thea Mulholland, and with numerous other awards including Most Improved Kick, Most Improved Kata, to the Mammy-San Award being presented to Nathan Mullen by Maria Hoey, everyone celebrated and congratulated one another on a brilliant 2017.
Head of Dundalk Karate, Sensei Mary Marcus 2nd Dan said afterwards, "The Awards Night is a time to give back to all members of Dundalk Karate and to recognize each students achievements over the year.
“To see everyone coming together minus their Gi's, Mitts etc is fantastic, as a club we don't get many opportunities to come together outside club training, seminars, competitions etc, so this is a great way to build upon our friendships especially for all our new members. Congratulations to all members of Dundalk Karate, OSS"
